24/7 study spaces
MIT faculty, students, and staff may access four 24/7 study spaces in libraries located across campus – accessible via MIT ID when the libraries are closed.
The spaces
Barker Library (10-500)
- Seating for over 90 people
- “Quiet” study space inside the Great Dome – additional study areas in portions of the 5th floor
- Equipment available includes computers (Windows), free MIT-only B&W printing, and a scanner.
- 2 all-gender restrooms, 1 ADA accessible
Dewey Library (E53-100)
- Seating for 26 people
- 1 large table
- 20 study carrels
- Equipment available includes:
- 1 computer (Windows)
- Monitors + connector cables (for laptops)
- Free MIT-only B&W and color printing
- KIC scanner
- Day lockers
- Hot and cold water dispenser available
- The entire space is ADA accessible, including the all-gender restroom
Hayden Library (14S-100, 14S-210 & 14S-250)
- Seating for 350 people
- Conversational study spaces on floors 1 and 1M and eight bookable group study rooms
- Enter from main or courtyard entrances with MIT ID
- Cold water dispenser available
- Equipment available includes:
- Computers (Windows)
- Free MIT-only B&W and color printing
- 2 KIC scanners
- 3 all-gender restrooms, ADA accessible
- Lactation room
Rotch Library (7-238)
- 2nd (main) floor of Rotch
- Seating for over 60 people
- Quiet study space with large windows
- Equipment available includes:
- Computers (Windows)
- Monitors + connector cables (for laptops)
- Free MIT-only B&W and color printing
- Self-checkout station
- KIC scanner
- No restrooms inside Rotch Library; the closest are in the Infinite Corridor
